DCC to Provide Putnam County 911 with Emergency Notification System

- Global Leader in Critical Communications Technology Continues to be System of Choice for 911 Centers across the Country -

Cookeville , Tennessee – Putnam County 911 has named DCC (Dialogic Communications Corporation) – the global leader in critical communications technology – as its emergency notification vendor, according to Randy Porter, Putnam County 911 director.

Putnam County 911 is a communications center located in Cookeville, Tennessee, that answers all 911 calls and dispatches for Algood Fire Department, Baxter Fire Department, Cookeville Fire Department, Monterey Fire Department, Putnam EMS, Putnam Fire Department and Putnam Rescue.

After completing a thorough and rigorous RFP (Request for Proposal) process in which several emergency communication vendors applied, Putnam County has selected DCC and purchased both of the company’s latest critical communications solutions, Communicator ! NXT and Geocast Web. The technology will enable the 911 center to automatically alert Putnam County first responders and residents of disasters, hazardous weather or emergency situations.

“We feel this system will significantly strengthen our communication resources and will be an integral part to our overall emergency response program,” said Porter. “DCC has a proven track record of providing both on-site and off-site emergency notification systems. With over 20 years of experience in this area, they were the unanimous choice for our organization.”

“Safety of our residents is priority #1 for Putnam County,” said Bob Duncan, Putnam County 911 board chairman. “This technology greatly enhances our ability to communicate with our residents during emergency situations, keeping everyone informed and on the same page.”

Communicator! NXT is a totally portable web product that automates manual notification processes, alerting key audiences by phone, pager or email. It delivers incident-specific information and/or potentially life-saving instruction to an unlimited number of contacts in a matter of seconds, ensuring rapid, accurate communication for virtually any public safety threat. GeoCast Web, DCC’s web-based mapping software, works in conjunction with Communicator! NXT and enables organizations to selectively target and notify individuals, based on location, during an emergency situation.

“We are tremendously excited that Putnam County 911 has decided to incorporate our technology into their communications program,” said Gene Kirby, president of DCC. “911 centers, such as Putnam County, are hubs for information, so it is essential that they have the capability to communicate quickly with their community. By controlling the dissemination process, 911 centers can help thwart potential public safety issues and risks before they happen.”

DCC currently provides on-site system deployments and off-site (hosted) services to hundreds of public safety and law enforcement organizations across the country. Progressive public safety operations nationwide depend on DCC's emergency notification technology to automatically alert first responders, media, local residents or entire communities-at-risk.  From hazardous materials incidents to evacuations to community policing, the company's critical communications solutions are industry-renowned for their innovation, reach and reliability.
