Leading Emergency Notification Providers Combine Web with Voice to Offer Complete Crime Alert Package
-
Franklin, Tennessee – DCC (Dialogic Communications Corporation) – the global leader in critical communications technology – today announced a partnership with CrimeWeb Network, LLC, a web-based information clearinghouse for public safety organizations.
CrimeWeb (patent pending) is an on-line service utilized by public safety operations nationwide to distribute information about missing persons, major crime, homeland security, and school/community activities to subscribers via email. DCC provides emergency notification software that automates any critical or routine communications process, delivering voice or text messages to key audiences, including first responders, local residents and neighborhood watch groups, through all available communications media.
DCC will integrate CrimeWeb’s web-based email alert system with its industry-leading emergency notification technology to provide expanded critical communications capabilities. Through this partnership, DCC and CrimeWeb will provide law enforcement agencies with the ability to have citizens, news media and other important audiences register on-line to receive notifications by both email and phone, keeping them alert and informed of current events (e.g., Amber Alerts, criminal activity, homeland security threats, etc.) in specific areas.
Subscribers will receive details based on CrimeWeb’s proprietary zip code system, ensuring receipt of any/all information that may affect them or their specific area. For example, a subscriber could register to receive a phone alert letting them know that a sex offender has moved into their neighborhood. Or, the subscriber could request to receive email alerts informing them that their local police department is offering a free safety workshop.
“By joining forces with CrimeWeb, we are significantly enhancing both organizations’ products and benefiting our customers greatly,” said Rick Wimberly, DCC’s director of public safety. “The two technologies will help to create a larger, more effective communications channel, ultimately help law enforcement organizations nationwide to strengthen ties with the communities they serve.”
Likewise, Bob Piccioni, a member of CrimeWeb’s board and captain in the Mesquite, Texas Police Department, believes that DCC’s telecommunications capabilities will greatly expand the CrimeWeb network. “In certain situations, residents want to be contacted immediately, and the quickest and most direct way to reach someone is by calling them on the phone,” said Piccioni. “By combining DCC’s powerful voice-driven communication technology with CrimeWeb’s proven web-based service, public safety operations now have access to a complete notification package.”
To access the CrimeWeb network, subscribers only need an Internet connection and email application, such as Microsoft® Outlook™. Voice-driven notifications, supplied by the CrimeWeb network and distributed by DCC’s critical communications technology, are delivered by landline, cell or satellite phone, helping to keep everyone alert and informed at all times.
