Independence Air Strengthens Communication Capabilities with DCC’s Critical Notification Technology
Dulles, VA – Independence Air (Nasdaq: FLYi), the nation’s newest low-fare airline, has selected DCC (Dialogic Communications Corporation) as its source for critical notification technology, and will look to its new web-based communications software to automatically contact people regarding urgent and routine situations.
Housed inside DCC’s state-of-the-art hosting facility at its Nashville, Tennessee headquarters, Independence Air will engage the company’s Communicator! NXT solution via the Internet, remotely launching notifications at any time, day or night. The technology will use DCC’s dedicated fiber optic network to rapidly distribute detailed information or instruction to key audiences, both inside and outside the organization. From alerting employees to communicating with shareholders to sharing information with airports across the country, Communicator! NXT will effectively keep select people or locations in the “communications loop” at all times.
“The ability to share information quickly is invaluable,” said Charles “Duffy” Mees, Vice President, Information Technology for Independence Air. “This technology will certainly strengthen our communications capabilities. And, as we move forward to implement Communicator! NXT, we feel Independence Air will be better prepared to address virtually any situation, routine or otherwise.”
Communicator! NXT, the latest innovation from DCC, automates even the most complex and high-volume of notification procedures. It brings all of the functionality of the company’s flagship solution, The Communicator! (used by numerous other airlines and airports around the world), to the Internet, making the worldwide web a safe and secure environment for even the most critical and widespread of communications. Communicator! NXT delivers voice and/or text messages to people through all available communications media (e.g., phone, pager, PDA, email, etc.), then gathers feedback in comprehensive reports. This will ensure Independence Air’s knowledge of who can and cannot respond, what actions are being taken, etc., promoting faster, more informed decision-making throughout the airline.
“Independence Air is a progressive leader in the airline industry, and we are thrilled to be working with them,” said Gene Kirby, President and CEO of DCC. “We firmly believe that Independence Air, like so many other transportation providers across the country, will benefit from using DCC’s technology to improve their critical communications efforts.”
Since the terrorist attacks of 2001, the transportation industry has faced many new security and economic challenges. By implementing critical notification technology, now a proven and viable means for augmenting both emergency and routine communications, one key area of concern is removed from these companies. DCC offers on- and off-site (hosted) solutions, as well as web-based software, that improve communications as today’s airlines, airports, rail companies, etc. strive to move forward and ensure the safety of their customers and employees.About Independence Air
